Book language: RussianThis book is in Russian.

Prayer is one of the primary forms of expressing faith in the Almighty. Human beings are imperfect; they have flaws, and they strive with all their hearts to correct them. That is why they turn to the Creator in prayer. As a rule, people feel the need to pray only when something disrupts the normal course of their lives. For example, if a person falls ill, if they are suffering and realize that no doctor in the world can guarantee that they will recover and feel well again, and that only the Holy One, blessed be He, the Giver of life to all living things, is capable of healing them and granting them a long and happy life—it is then that they cry out to Him in prayer from the very depths of their soul, asking for healing. No matter what misfortune befalls a person—whether he is experiencing financial difficulties, being harassed by ill-wishers, or seeing friends turn their backs on him—he suddenly realizes how precarious his well-being is and turns to the Almighty, praying for help and salvation. But when life goes on as usual, they generally do not feel their own imperfection and do not feel the need to pray. In this book, the author explains in detail and in accessible terms the laws of Jewish prayer that women must observe.

Rabbi Eliezer Melamed is the rabbi of the Har Bracha settlement in Samaria, where he founded a hesder yeshiva, whose students combine their mandatory service in the Israel Defense Forces with Torah study. He is the author of books and articles on Halakha, Jewish philosophy, and history. Rabbi Melamed considers the primary purpose of the “Peninei Halakha” book series to be building a “bridge” between divine ethical standards and our daily activities. Published for over twenty years and constantly expanding, the Peninei Halakha series (with 16 volumes published to date) occupies the most prominent and authoritative place in contemporary Israeli halakhic literature.
